What's the best way to reach Oberplars in South Tyrol?
All roads lead to Oberplars. Well ... almost! In any case, your journey can be made in every conceivable way: Whether you arrive by train and take the bus from Merano to Oberplars, whether you take the long-distance bus directly to us - the choice is yours! Of course you can also arrive by car (and even by bike). As of recently, there are also super exciting connections to the airport of Bolzano, which bring you in no time from your home to South Tyrol. Where exactly is Algund?
Algund is located very close to the spa town of Merano. 6 kilometers, to be exact. So - actually Algund is located between Merano and Töll, the entrance to the Vinschgau, and thus offers the possibility to explore the entire Meraner Land!
We are always right in the middle of it! In the mountains, in the heart of South Tyrol.
How can I get around without a car?
Well, the best of course is by foot or by bike! :-) But also the bus stop to Merano or Vellau is reached from our holiday apartments in only two minutes.
How far away is Merano/Algund?
Of course that depends on how fast you can pedal or walk! Joking aside - Merano is reached by car in 15 minutes. In Algund, you are there by car in only 5 minutes!
What does the name paloria mean?
paloria is the first and thus oldest Romanesque name for Oberplars. And we want to honour our roots - that's why we chose this name for our residence!
Do you value sustainability?
Yes, very much so. We love our environment and nature very much, and therefore take care in all areas to act as environmentally-conscious as possible. But with "sustainability" we also associate a sense of well-being - in other words, sustainable living. To make sure that we and our guests are always well, that they can slow down and relax here with us. Is a breakfast service also offered?
No, there is no breakfast service. But - we bring crispy fresh rolls to the door daily (except Sundays)!
Are bed linen, towels and basic equipment available in the kitchen?
Of course you will! At paloria, you will certainly want for nothing. Read here to learn how exactly our apartments are equipped.
Is there free WiFi?
Of course, we have super-fast WiFi in all apartments, which is perfect for longer stays or remote working!
Where can I shop nearby?
In our in-house, small shop, of course :-) In the center of Algund, there are also small stores with handmade, regional products on offer: butchers, bakers, confectioners, and of course, the Algund alpine dairy! For larger purchases, there is also a supermarket.
You probably bring your sportswear with you on vacation. But you probably don't mind buying a few more pieces at a special price! Because if you find yourself at Sport Franz in Algund, you get a 10% discount on everything as a paloria guest. After all, a paloria holiday is a power (shopping) holiday! ;-)
Are dogs allowed?
No, we're sorry, but unfortunately we're not equipped for our four-legged friends.
How child-friendly is paloria?
Small adventurers are always welcome with us! Table tennis and a saltwater pool for splashing are some of the few things that await them, and the (fruit) meadows and (vineyard) mountains around the paloria offer plenty of space for a playground! Especially some of our particularly family-friendly apartments!
Is there also a sauna/swimming pool?
What would a vacation be without a sauna and pool? Exactly. paloria offers you a Finnish sauna with a view, a bio sauna, an outdoor pool with salt water and a new whirlpool in the middle of our time-out oasis on the sun terrace.

Restaurants and eateries nearby?
You thought you had to cook for yourself on your paloria holiday? Not at all! We have a culinary partner: the Restaurant Buss’l & more in Partschins. If you dine here, the aperitivo is free - because we buy it for you! Cheers!
In addition, just a few minutes away is Restaurant Leiter am Waal, with super delicious South Tyrolean cuisine. You can also reach the Schnalshuberhof, Gasthof Oberlechner and Restaurant Ladurner very quickly from the paloria!
Is parking available?
Yes, parking is not only available for bikes. Cars also have their place! Each apartment has its own reserved parking space.
Is the Algund Card included in the price?
Yes, it is! It's also a pretty cool thing...
Last but not least - What's the cancellation policy at the paloria?
In case of late arrival or early departure of your booked stay, we take the liberty to charge cancellation fees. For cancellations between 2 months and the 28th day before arrival, we charge 3 days of the apartment or loft price, after that we charge the total price. In case of late arrival or early departure, the apartment or loft will be charged in full. To avoid unnecessary costs in case of illness, etc., we recommend to take out travel cancellation insurance.
Changed cancellation conditions if you cannot start your journey due to the C-word!
In case of an official travel warning or valid quarantine regulations, there is the possibility to cancel free of charge until 7 days before arrival date, after that we charge the total price.
