Bouldering in Algund
welcome to South Tyrol's largest outdoor bouldering area.
Right outside paloria's door lies one of the largest outdoor bouldering areas in South Tyrol: 370 boulders, 12 sectors, grades from 4 to 8a, gneiss rock and mixed woodland all around. The south-facing slope means you can boulder outdoors here almost all year – often from February onwards.
- To get started
Knödelmann sector – a perfect landing zone, not too smooth, not too rough. Ideal for warming up.
- For the experienced
Dragonball and Elettra sectors – this is where it gets steep and technical.
- When it rains
Rockarena in Merano – indoor climbing gym, 730 m², a few minutes from paloria.
- For a day trip
Salewa Cube in Bolzano – Italy's largest climbing gym, 2,000 m² of climbing surface.
- What you need
Crash pad, chalk, good shoes. Crash pads can be hired from Sport Franz in Algund. And the main thing: looking forward to it.
